Wadefishing is for me the most enjoyable form of fishing there is. From the moment you first step off the boat, you enter a part of our environment foreign to most people. When your feet hit the bottom and you start into fishing mode, you will interpret which kind of bottom you have. Shell, sand, mud, grass, or a combination of these types - all this will help you determine how you want to fish an area. The flow of water, the way the wind is blowing - all will start to be a factor. All of the sudden you will realize you are becoming a part of the system around you. As you move through the water fishing, looking for movement, changes in the bottom structure (sandpockets, dropoffs, shell reefs) will find your engulfed in the wonder of wadefishing. If fishing is a getaway experience for you then wadefishing is the ultimate. When your wading there will be nothing but fishing on your mind. As you become part of the bay system surrounding you. The joy when you cast to your first redfish or trout. The splash of the fish breaking the water, now you not only see it but you feel it. Water moving around you as the fish erupts, as the fish moves you move. Now it becomes a dance to capture the fish in its environment. The exhilaration of having fish in hand, sun shining on your back, sea breeze blowing, that last splash of water the fish made next to you. A feeling you'll want over and over again.
